QR codes (also known as Quick Response codes) have become one of the most popular types of bar codes, as they can be used for a variety of purposes and offer a lot of information about products, items, and services. QR codes may provide information like links (to websites, videos, or files), e-mail addresses, phone numbers, virtual business cards (vCards), and more.
CodeTwo QR Code Desktop Reader is a small and simple app that enables you to scan QR codes, retrieve the information they contain and display it for your convenience. This tool is not only very small, neat and lightweight, but also very simple and easy to use. Its interface is straightforward and self-explanatory, so every user can handle it easily, even if they are complete beginners.
In my opinion, the best thing about this application is the fact that it can decode QR codes either from an image file, which you can easily select and load from any location on your hard drive, or directly from the screen, using a selection tool that lets you choose any area of the screen that displays a QR code, including from opened websites or documents. Once the QR code is decoded, you can save the retrieved information to a text file.
To sum it all up, CodeTwo QR Code Desktop Reader is really handy. It serves one single, simple purpose: to decode QR codes, but it does its job flawlessly and it’s also free, so it gets my recommendation.
